About me

My name is Megan Coombe, I am 20 and I am currently working at the co-op on tills hoping to get a job in film, editing or photography. In my time in education, I passed all my subjects including photography GSCE in which I got a 5 and managed to get a distinction in level 3 diploma at Callywith college studying Creative Media Production & Technology. I hope one day to be a part of a filming production in Cornwall.

I also enjoy writing fictional books for dyslexic people, that connect with recent global issues that we face in todays world. So far I have written and completed 4 books, which have been put on Amazon. But my true passion is film and I have always dreamt about being behind a camera, filming films or TV series. In my spare time I do photography and the occasional filming.

I started writing when I was 10, started photography at 11, put my first book on Amazon when I was 14 and started filming and editing at 16. I've always wanted to be a photographer or a videographer, filming films or series. For a long time, I was convinced that both dreams were unobtainable and started writing books in the hope that one day someone somewhere would make them into movies. Then I found the media course and thought it would be a brilliant opportunity to learn and have a career in a subject that I would really enjoy and possible have the opportunity to make my books into movies myself.

My first book, 'The Spirit of Animals' is an introduction into the world of spirits that I have created. It does briefly talk about the extinction of animals.

My Second book, 'The Spirit of Water' talks in detail about pollution in the ocean and how the spirit of water solves all the issues facing the ocean and the creatures that live there. But the book makes it clear that we need to act now and not wait for some mythical creature to fix it.

My third book, 'The Spirit's of Fire, Lightning and Wind' talks about 3 different characters finding their spirit on a different planet from ours. This story in particular is mostly fictional as it is set on another planet, but has elements of truth throughout the book, particularly the last chapter which talks about the effect of endangering and the extinction of animals from their perspective and explains how humanity cannot survive without their existence.

My forth book, 'The Spirit of Nature' talks about the effect of deforestation and talks about how it doesn't just effect the environment and people who live on the planet, but the animals who live their as well. Not only does this book talk about deforestation from the perspective of the trees, but also from the perspective of the animals that live in the forest and the deforesters themselves. Unlike the other 3 books, this one has fictional human characters, with comments, personalities and views about the environment.

My fifth book, 'The Spirit of Ice and Snow' talks in detail about the effect that Global warming has on the ice caps and talks in detail about what would happen if humanity continued to allow the ice caps to melt away completely.
